Requirements of the TurboWin version 5.0 for Windows
TurboWin developed by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) in conjunction with the European Meteorological Services Network (EUMETNET) is designed to help encode observational data (weather messages and marine meteorological logbooks) on your PCs. It has the following features as below.
- To facilitate encoding, users can display various auxiliary input screens while inputting observational data in another window.
- Observational data are automatically saved in the designated folder in the form of weather report and marine meteorological logbook.
- You can send a weather report from the Inmarsat transmitter by uploading the weather report file.
- In addition you can send a floppy disk or CD-R saving the marine meteorological logbook file (IMMT.TXT) by mail in lieu of a paper logbook when you make a port call at a Japanese port. You can send it by e-mail to

- The software checks weather reports to reduce the incidence error.
