WMO requires relevant countries to support Voluntary Observing Ships (VOSs) in marine meteorological observation and to help maintain related quality.
Based on WMO request, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) provides Port Meteorological Service (PMS) support including guidebooks on weather observations and reports, and responds to VOS barometer check requests.
